Project summary

The past fiscal year was marked by significant milestones and achievements for The San Diego Foundation. Notably, they launched the Malin Burnham Center for Civic Engagement and conducted the record-breaking Our Greater San Diego Vision (OGSDV) community engagement campaign, setting a national civic engagement record.

On the Center for Charitable Giving side, the Foundation established a record 127 new charitable funds, highlighting the growing support from individuals, corporations, foundations, and families. Additionally, their inaugural giveBIG campaign raised $2.4 million in just 36 hours through over 6,000 gifts, marking the most significant community fundraising effort in their history.

These accomplishments underscore the strong philanthropic spirit in San Diego, referred to as the "San Diego Way." The Foundation also introduced a digital annual report and launched an app, both firsts in the community foundation sector, to further engage and inspire support. The year's successes serve as a call to continue working together for the common good of the region.
